Course Overview
AI Foundation Level 0 is a fast-track course for students with prior coding experience who want to quickly learn AI-assisted development. This 4-session intensive covers the setup and workflow foundations from AI Project Lab Level 1, enabling students to jump directly into web development projects.
Perfect for students who already know programming basics and want to start using Claude Code efficiently.

- Development Environment — VS Code setup, extensions, and Node.js configuration
- AI-Assisted Coding — Using Claude Code to write, debug, and understand code
- Git & GitHub — Version control, branching, and collaboration workflows
- EDP Protocol — Engineering design process for AI-assisted development

What’s Next
After completing Level 0, students can:
- Join AI Project Lab Level 1 at week 5 (web development projects)
- Start building web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Work on portfolio projects with AI assistance
Laptop Requirements
- RAM: 16GB minimum
- Processor: Intel 12th Gen or newer, AMD Ryzen 5000 or newer, Apple M1 or newer
- Storage: 256GB SSD minimum (512GB recommended)
- Display: 1080p, 13” or larger
- OS: Windows 10/11, macOS 11+, or Linux
Chromebooks and tablets are not supported. Laptops older than 2020 are not recommended.
Prerequisites
- Age: Grades 5-12 (ages 10-18)
- Experience: Text-based coding experience required (Python Foundation or Applied Python)
- Requirements: Basic typing skills helpful
