Terms of Service

By accessing or using the websites, services, and programs operated by Caution Tape Robotics Club and STEM 4K Education Group Inc. (collectively, "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, students, parents/guardians, and others who access or use our services, including our educational programs, robotics classes, competition training, and related offerings.

Age Requirements: Our services are designed for students of various ages. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on their behalf. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child's compliance with these Terms.

Account Information: If you create an account with us, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.

Parental Consent: For students under 13 years of age, we require verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information.

We provide educational services including but not limited to:
- Robotics instruction and competition training (VEX IQ, VEX V5, FIRST LEGO League)
- Coding and programming courses
- STEM labs and maker programs
- Summer camps and workshops
- Competition preparation and mentorship

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time without prior notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts or all of our services without notice or liability.

Payment: Fees for our programs are due as specified at the time of enrollment. We accept various payment methods as indicated during the registration process.

Refund Policy: Our refund policy varies by program type. Generally:
- Full refunds are available if requested before the program start date
- Partial refunds may be available within the first two weeks of a program
- No refunds are typically provided after two weeks of program commencement
- Competition registration fees and material costs may be non-refundable

When using our services, you agree to:
- Treat all staff, instructors, students, and families with respect
- Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided
- Not engage in any behavior that disrupts classes or programs
- Not harass, bully, or discriminate against others
- Not damage, misuse, or misappropriate equipment or materials
- Not attempt to access restricted areas or systems
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

We reserve the right to remove any participant whose conduct is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or harmful to others, without refund.

Our Content: All content on our websites and in our programs, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, curriculum materials, and software, is the property of Caution Tape Robotics Club, STEM 4K Education Group Inc., or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Student Work: Students retain ownership of their original creations, including robot designs, code, and engineering notebooks. However, by participating in our programs, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and share student work for promotional and educational purposes, with appropriate credit when feasible.

Restrictions: You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of our content without our express written permission.

If you submit content to us (such as comments, reviews, photos, or videos), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with our services.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit such content and that it does not violate any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights.

We reserve the right to remove any user content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable.

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

As-Is Basis: Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Educational Outcomes: While we strive to provide high-quality education, we do not guarantee any specific educational outcomes, competition results, or skill acquisition.

Third-Party Services: Our services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of such third-party services.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Caution Tape Robotics Club, STEM 4K Education Group Inc., and their officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of our services.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Caution Tape Robotics Club, STEM 4K Education Group Inc., and their affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of our services or violation of these Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in the Regional Municipality of York, Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, may provide additional notice such as email notification or a prominent notice on our website.

Your continued use of our services after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
