Course Overview
The VEX IQ Competition Program is designed for students who have completed the Foundation course and are ready to compete. Students will build competition-ready robots, develop advanced programming skills, and learn tournament strategies.
This intensive program prepares students for official VEX IQ Challenge competitions, where they’ll compete against teams from across the region.

Course Structure
The program follows a 4-week rotating cycle:
- Weeks 1-2: Instruction — Advanced strategies, game analysis, and skill refinement
- Week 3: Building & Coding — Robot optimization and autonomous programming
- Week 4: Competition & Scrimmage — Practice matches and tournament preparation
Competition Experience
Students will have opportunities to:
- Participate in local scrimmages and practice matches
- Compete in official VEX IQ Challenge tournaments
- Qualify for regional and provincial championships
- Experience the excitement of competitive robotics
Prerequisites
- Recommended: Completion of VEX IQ Competition Foundation
- Age: Grades 4-8
- Commitment: Regular attendance required for team success
